Ski Resort Map
Halfway between one of North America's coolest mountain towns and one of the world's most beautiful alpine lakes, Northstar is a destination on the rise, having poured nearly a billion dollars into creating Lake Tahoe's premier luxury snowsports experience. Upscale shops, refined dining and Lake Tahoe's only five-star slopeside lodging.
Over 2,800 vertical feet of pure mountain bliss. From the steep and deep to perfectly groomed corduroy you can get your winter fix at Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows). Summer activities include waterfall hikes and relaxing at the High Camp pool and hot tub. Palisades Tahoe mesmerizes with perfect powder which lingers days after a storm, grants moments of clarity on quiet traverses through snow-covered pine trees; and converts visitors to locals with seven open bowls, gentle, top-to-bottom cruisers, and forested glades.
Homewood Mountain Resort offers over 2,000 acres of the best skiing and snowboarding terrain in the Lake Tahoe region. Homewood is the closest resort to lake level, and their signature Rainbow Ridge run provides panoramic views of both North & South Lake Tahoe while skiing down to the lake.
Diamond Peak Ski Resort is Lake Tahoe's hidden gem. Located above Incline Village, Diamond Peak is a community-owned resort with breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe; miles of welcoming, uncrowded runs; easy access from the parking lot to the slopes; a dedicated Child Ski Center for the littlest skiers and snowboarders; and a great Ski & Snowboard School for older skiers/riders.
Recent changes include 9 additional Pole Cat snow-makers, as well as the realignment of the Ponderosa Chair, now called the Wizard Lift, accessing the 4 new trails of the new Enchanted Forest family zone. These improvements continue to take Mt. Rose boldly into the future to provide one of the best winter recreation options in Lake Tahoe.
Perched atop Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl Resort has been family owned since the beginning in 1939. While visiting Sugar Bowl much of the historic charm is still maintained within the modern resort. Touches of Austrian character and Bavarian stylings provide a glimpse into Hannes Schroll's and other founder's vision for this unique mountain.
While located in South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Valley offers something for everyone. Ski California or Nevada on 34 miles of groomed cruisers, or 1600-foot plunges in double-black diamond canyons. Heavenly offers base areas in California and Nevada, ski and snowboard lessons, rentals, and food and beverage options right on the mountain.
